SCARIFICATION FOR MOSS AND THATCH REMOVAL
Scarification is simply the process of removing any moss and thatch from your lawn. Thatch is dead grass and both thatch and moss will prevent water and nutrients from reaching the roots of your grass and stop it growing as well as it should.
When scarifying your lawn, we’ll use a two or three-step process depending on what your lawn needs, first by going through your lawn lengthways to mechanically remove moss and thatch, then with a second pass 30 degrees in one direction and finally with a 30 degree pass in the opposite direction if needed.
While scarification does leave your lawn looking less than its best initially, within a couple of weeks you’ll soon notice fresh new growth coming back and a healthier, thicker and greener looking lawn.
